Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference Names Boxer Laila Ali Keynote Speaker

The Bakersfield Women's Business Conference has enlisted a trailblazing female speaker. Boxer Laila Ali will keynote the event's luncheon on April 19th. 

The conference will take place at the Rabobank Convention Center & Marriott at the Convention Center. This year's title of the 28th annual event is "A New You." 

The luncheon featuring Ali is sponsored by Chevron. Exhibitors are currently being accepted and registration information will be available at a later date. 

Ali competed as a professional boxer from 1999-2007 and is the daughter of legend Muhammad Ali. She won the WBC, WIBA, IWBF, and IBA super middleweight titles and the IWBF light heavyweight title. 

In 2001, Ali headlined the first major pay-per-view fight contested by women. She finished her career a perfect 24-0 in 2007 and embarked on a career as a media personality. 

Ali has appeared on several reality television shows, including a third-place finish on season four of Dancing with the Stars. She is the author of the book, Reach!: Finding Strength, Spirit and Personal Power
