About Vince Young
Vince Young is often remembered for giving us one of the most thrilling BCS National Championship Games in recent memory when his Texas Longhorns defeated the Trojans of USC in the 2006 Rose Bowl. During the game, Young set several BCS records by accounting for 467 total yards with 5 total touchdowns.
Young compiled a 30-2 record as a starter during his college career. He threw for over 6,000 yards and rushed for another 3,100, accounting for 81 total touchdowns and setting the majority of UT's quarterback records. As a redshirt junior, Young was the Davey O'Brien Award winner and runner-up in the Heisman Trophy voting.
In the 2006 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Young third overall. He spent the first five years of his NFL career with the Titans. Young had a standout rookie year, making his first trip to the Pro Bowl and being named NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. He again made the Pro Bowl and finished third in the 2009 NFL Comeback Player of the Year voting.
Young retired from football in 2014 and has spent time working for the Texas athletic department. His #10 jersey is retired by the school and he is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.
