About Vernon Davis
Vernon Davis was a standout football player at Dunbar High School where he was rated as the 3rd ranked tight end of his class and was considered a 4 star recruit. Davis accepted a scholarship to play football at the University of Maryland where he saw action right away as a true freshman. By the end of his junior season at Maryland, Davis was a Consensus All-American and was a finalist for the Mackey Award as the nationÂs top tight end. In 2006 he declared for the NFL Draft where he was selected 6th overall by the San Francisco 49ers where he has spent the first ten years of his career. Davis became one of the league's best tight ends with the Niners, making two Pro Bowl trips along with being named a second-team All-Pro in 2013. In 2009, he led the NFL with 13 touchdown receptions. Davis was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2015 and helped them win Super Bowl 50. Since 2016, he has played for the Washington Redskins.
