About Tony Dorsett
Tony Dorsett is a former running back in the National Football League. Tony began his career in high school where he became a break out star and earned All-State honors after setting a single game rushing record with 247 yards. Dorsett had continued success in college at the University of Pittsburgh where he became the first freshman in 29 years to be named an All-American. He would leave Pittsburgh as a UPI Player of the Year recipient, a Maxwell Award selection, a recipient of the Walter Camp Award, and the Heisman Trophy winner in 1976. Tony then became the 2nd overall selection in the 1977 NFL Draft. He went on to play until 1988 where he racked up 12,739 rushing yards with 398 receptions for 3,554 yards and 92 touchdowns. Those numbers propelled Dorsett to becoming a 4 time Pro Bowl selection, a two time NFC Champion, and a Super Bowl Champion. He has also been enshrined into both the College Football and Pro Football Halls of Fame.
