About Tommy Maddox
Tommy Maddox is a former quarterback in the National Football League, the XFL, and the Arena Football League. Tommy began his career in college at UCLA where he played for two seasons and led his team to success, including an appearance in the John Hancock Bowl in 1991. In 1992 he was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft and went on to play for the Denver Broncos. He didnt see a lot of playing time early on in his career and after being released in 1997 he went to work as an insurance agent before coming back to football in the Arena Football League in 2000. In its only season, Maddox was the starting quarterback of the Los Angeles Xtreme in the XFL where he led his team to the XFL Championship and he himself was the league's MVP. Tommy returned to the NFL in 2002 with the Pittsburgh Steelers where he led the team to a 10-5 record and a playoff berth. For his efforts he was named the 2002 AP NFL Player of the Year.
