About T.J. Yates
T.J. Yates is a current NFL quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons. Drafted in the 5th round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans out of the University of North Carolina, Yates rose to national popularity by leading the Texans to their first ever playoff win after injuries to starter Matt Schaub and second string Matt Leinart forced Yates into action. Yates threw for 300 yards and two touchdowns in his first career start against the Cincinnati Bengals, a victory that would clinch a playoff berth for the Texans. Yates would then go on to lead the Texans to a 31-10 victory over the Bengals in the first round of the playoffs, eventually being eliminated by the Ravens the next week. Yates entered the 2012 season second on the depth chart behind returning starter Matt Schaub, seeing limited action until being replaced by Case Keenum. During the 2014 offseason, Yates was traded to the Atlanta Falcons, where he backs up Matt Ryan.
