About The Hanson Brothers
The Hanson Brothers were all real hockey players that made the legendary hockey film Slap Shot come to life. Their hijinks on and off the ice in the film endeared them to a generation of fans. They typify many people’s view of what it is really like to play in low-level hockey. The men making up the trio are Steve Carlson, Jeff Carlson, and Dave Hansen. Steve Carlson played 225 games between the NHL and WHA, brother Jeff saw action in seven WHA games, and Hanson suited up for 136 games combined between the two leagues. They now make appearances all over as their famous fictitious characters.
