Steven Wright Biography

Steven Wright is one of the rare pitchers today who is a practitioner of the knuckleball. In his first full season as a starting pitcher, Steven Wright made an undeniable impact on the Boston Red Sox.  During the first half of 2016, Wright posted a 10-5 record with an American League-best 2.68 ERA.  He became a spot starter for the Red Sox during the 2015 season.  He originally debuted with Boston in 2013, making a handful of appearances during his first two seasons while also spending time in AAA.  The Cleveland Indians originally drafted Wright and he was traded to the Red Sox organization in 2012.  He played college baseball at the University of Hawaii.  As a junior, he went 11-2 with a 2.30 ERA and was named a second-team All-American.
