Stan Verrett Biography

Stan Verrett is an anchor on ESPN and ESPNEWS networks. Verrett attended Howard University Washington, D.C. where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in journalism. After graduating from Howard, Verrett worked as a weekend sports anchor and reporter for the NBC affiliate WDSU-TV. Verrett joined ESPN as an anchor for ESPNEWS in September 2000. In March 2009, Verrett moved to ESPN’s new Los Angeles production facility so he could co-host the 1 a.m. Eastern Time edition of SportsCenter with Neil Everett. Throughout his career, Verrett has hosted studio segments on ESPN’s college basketball and college football telecasts. He has also appeared as a sideline reporter for ArenaBowl XXII. Verrett serves as a sports anchor and reporter for WVEC-TV and WAVY-TV. Verrett was a top-rated morning show personality for several radio stations in Washington D.C., Charleston and Norfolk. Verrett was born and raised in New Orleans and unfortunately; Hurricane Katrina home destroyed his boyhood.
