About Sean Payton
Sean Payton is the head coach of the Denver Broncos. He had an amazing 16-year run as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints from 2006-2021. In 2009 Payton led the Saints to a win in Super Bowl XLIV and a 13-3 overall record. Overall, he posted a 152-89 record and led the Saints to seven AFC South Division titles. Payton guided New Orleans to four straight division crows from 2017-20. During his irst year with the Saints, he was named the NFL Coach of the Year with a 10-6 overall record and an appearance in the NFC Championship game.
Prior to beginning his career in coaching, he played quarterback in the AFL, CFL and NFL during the 1987 seasons but ultimately decided that his career would be in coaching. From 1988 to 1996 he served as an assistant coach at San Diego State, Indiana State, Miami of Ohio and Illinois before heading to the NFL as the quarterbacks coach for the Philadelphia Eagles. From 1999 to 2002 he coached with the New York Giants and was hired in 2003 to join the Dallas Cowboys as an associate head coach in charge of quarterbacks.
