Rusty Wallace

Russell William Wallace, Jr., more commonly known as “Rusty”, is a retired racecar driver. Making his mark as one of racing’s most distinguished and appealing personalities, Rusty is not surprisingly a member of four different major halls of fame. As a Missouri native, he grew up in the 1950’s and ‘60’s falling in love with the race track. Prior to his debut as a NASCAR racer, he won numerous local track championships around Florida throughout the ‘70’s. Wallace competed in his first NASCAR race in 1980, placing second. His most notable achievements have come in 1983 as the ASA Champion, 1989 as the Winston Cup Series Champion, 1990 as the Coca-Cola 600 Winner, 1991 as the IROC Champion and 1998 as the Bud Shootout Winner. As a member of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, the National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame, and countless others, Wallace is certainly admired by many. He was named one of NASCAR’s 50 Greatest Drivers in 1998 but has undoubtedly climbed the ladder since, making a huge name for himself over the years.
