About Roy Hibbert
Roy Hibbert attended Georgetown University to play basketball for the Hoyas, following in the footsteps of the great Hoya centers before him like Dikembe Mutombo and Patrick Ewing. He broke out in his junior season, being named All Big-East First-Team and helping lead the Hoyas to their first Big East Conference Championship win since 1989. He initially declared for the draft following that season but never hired an agent, returning to Georgetown for his final season where he was selected as Big East Preseason Player of the Year. Following his senior season, Hibbert was selected in the 2008 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors who immediately traded him the Indiana Pacers. Hibbert had a breakout season in 2012, averaging 12.8 ppg and 8.8 rpg while helping lead the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals as well as taking his first trip to the All-Star Game. In 2014 he was again selected to the All-Star Game and he has set the franchise record for most blocks in a single game with 11.
