About Rich Glover
Rich Glover is a former NFL defensive tackle. Prior to being drafted in the third round of the 1973 NFL Draft, Glover was a player in college. Rich played for Nebraska where he led the team to two consecutive national championships in 1970 and 1971. He became the first Cornhusker to win both the Outland Trophy and the Lombardi Award in his collegiate career. Rich was also an All-American and his jersey number 79 has been retired. Following his collegiate career, Rich was destined to play in the NFL where he was selected in the draft by the New York Giants and later also played for the Philadelphia Eagles. As a result of injuries his career was short, but he has since gone on to become a teacher and coach in the public school system in California, teaching the next generation in the classroom and on the field. In 1995 Glover got the biggest honor of his entire career by being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
