Rafael Nadal Biography

Rafael Nadal, more commonly referred to as “Nada”, is an extremely talented Spanish professional tennis player. Currently ranked number three in the world, he is widely considered the greatest clay court player of his time, hence his other nickname, “The King of Clay”. Nada was born in the Balearic Islands in Spain in 1986. As a competitor for Spain’s national team, he is a Olympic gold medalist whom earned is gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing in singles. Nada’s impressive tennis career commenced at a very young age. In fact, by the age of eight, he had already won an under-12 regional tennis championship. Nada had two passions in life throughout his childhood, the other one being football, until his father made him choose between the two. After choosing tennis, Nada never looked back and has now won 14 Grand Slam singles titles, a record 27 ATP World Tour Masters 1000 and a record 15 ATP World Tour 500 tournaments. Although he specializes as “The King of Clay”, Nada is one of only two male tennis players in history to have won at least two Grand Slam titles on three different surfaces, including hard court, grass, and clay. Nada continues to impress all those who are fortunate enough to witness his talents.
