About Norm Ullman
Norm Ullman is a former ice hockey forward for the Detroit Red Wings. Ullman began his career with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WCJHL before he moved to the Edmonton Flyers of the WHL. Ullman turned professional in the 1955-56 NHL season when he signed with the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL. Ullman was a renowned as an excellent stick handler and he was one of the paramount fore checkers in hockey history. Ullman led Detroit in goals in 1961, 1965, and 1966. He also led the league in the 1964-65 season with 42 goals. During his career, Ullman appeared in 11 All-Star games and he scored 30 goals and had 53 assists during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. On March 3, 1968, Ullman was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs where he finished his NHL career. Ullman ended his hockey career after two seasons with the WHA’s Edmonton Oilers. On September 8, 1982, Ullman was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.
