Nnamdi Asomugha

Nnamdi Asomugha is a former football cornerback for the NFL for 10 years. Asomugha attended the University of California, Berkley where he played football for the Golden Bears football team. The Oakland Raiders selected Asomugha as the 31st overall draft pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. Asomugha became a starter in 2005 and he set new highs in tackles and passes broken up. In 2006, Asomugha recorded his first two career interceptions against the Cleveland Browns. Four weeks later, he recorded his third interceptions and ran it in for his first career touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers. On February 19, 2009, Asomugha was re-signed by the Raiders to a complex three-year deal that made him the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history. Asomugha signed a five-year, $50 million contract with the Eagles on July 29, 2011. The Eagles released Asomugha in 2012. On April 2, 2013, Asomugha signed a 1-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers; the team waived him on November 4, 2013. Asomugha signed a one-day contract on December 26, 2013 so he could retire as a Raider. He officially announced his retirement the next day.
