About Nick Fairley
Nick Fairley is a football defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions of the National Football League. Fairley attended Copiah-Lincoln Community College from 2007- 2008. He was redshirted during 2007 and he played in seven games. Fairley transferred to Auburn University, where he played football for the Tigers in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, he became the second player from Auburn to win the Lombardi Award. Four days after the 2011 BCS National Championship Game, Fairley decided to enter the 2011 NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions selected Fairley as the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. On July 28, 2011, Fairley signed a four-year, $10 million contract with the Lions. During is first year with the Lions Fairley was troubled by inconsistency. The following season, he was more consistent, but on December 12, 2012, he was put on the injured reserve list, which ended his season. In his fourth season, Fairley was productive, but he sustained a medial collateral ligament sprain on October 26, 2014.
