About Nate McMillan
Nate McMillan has extensive experience in the NBA as a player and coach and is currently a lead assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers. While he was passed over by scouts after playing in high school, Nate continued his career to college when he played for North Carolina State University. While there he exhibited his skill and helped lead the program to an ACC regular-season championship as well as two Elite Eight appearances. He then went on to play in the NBA after becoming the 30th overall selection in the 1986 NBA Draft. McMillan racked up nearly 5,000 points and became the NBA Steals Leader in 1994 and was a two-time selection to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team before his retirement from playing in 1998. By 2000 he began a new career as a coach where he even coached his former team, the Seattle SuperSonics, for five seasons.
