About Mike Locksley
Mike Locksley is one of the premier offensive minds in the college game and he has proved himself over a long and decorated career. Locksley got his start in college football as a defensive back at Towson University. During his career at Towson, he was named the Tigers Defensive Player of the Year during his senior season and graduated with a degree in marketing in 1992. After the 1992 season, he joined the Towson coaching staff and went on to serve as an assistant at the Naval Academy Preparatory School, Pacific University, Army, Maryland, Florida, and Illinois from 1993 to 2008 before landing the head coaching job at New Mexico University in 2009. After two seasons at New Mexico, he was hired as the offensive coordinator at Maryland in 2012. Locksley took over as the interim head coach in 2015 before leaving for Alabama. His role at arguably the nation's top program increased over time until he became Crimson Tide offensive coordinator in 2018. That year, he was honored with the Broyles Award as the nation's top assistant coach and he returned to Maryland as head coach after the season.
