About Michael Taylor
Michael Taylor is an outfielder for the Kansas City Royals. In his first year with the Royals, Taylor won a Gold Glove and led all American League players with 11 outfield assists in 2021. He originally had a breakout season with the Washington Nationals in 2017, batting .274 with 18 home runs, 17 stolen bases and 52 RBI. He locked down the everyday center field job for the first time after being named a starter at points during the previous two seasons. Taylor was a key force in the lineup helping the Nationals win the National League East Division. He was originally called up to the big leagues in 2014. That same season, Baseball America labeled him the franchise's second-best prospect. The Nationals originally selected him in the sixth round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of Westminster Academy. Taylor was named the Potomac Nationals Player of the Year in 2013.
