Matt McGloin

Matt McGloin is one of the greatest quarterbacks in Penn State history and a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He holds an interesting place in the history of Penn State University. He was the starting quarterback for the Nittany Lions from 2010-12. McGloin became the first walk-on to start at the position for Penn State since scholarships were reinstated in 1949. He had a banner senior season, throwing for 3,271 yards and 24 touchdowns against just nine interceptions. That year, McGloin led the Big 10 and set a school record with 270 completions. He was named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention. When McGloin left State College, he was the Nittany Lions all-time leader with 46 passing touchdowns and ranked second with 6,390 passing yards. The Oakland Raiders went on to sign McGloin as an undrafted free agent in 2013. He started six games in his rookie season, throwing for 1,547 yards and eight touchdowns. After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Raiders, he signed with the Eagles in 2017. McGloin is currently attempting a football comeback in the XFL with the New York Guardians.
