Matt Kalil

Matt Kalil is the son of former Arizona Wranglers and Houston Gamblers player Frank Kalil. Kalil attended Servite High School where he played football and was named a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and he was ranked the No. 3 offensive tackle in the class of 2008. Kalil attended the University of Southern California and was redshirted in his freshman year. As a sophomore, Kalil beat Tyron Smith as left tackle and started in al 13 games. After his sophomore year, Kalil was named the best offensive tackle prospect for the 2012 NFL Draft. In 2011, Kalil was named First-team All-American, First-team All-Pac-12 and the winner of the Morris Trophy. The Minnesota Vikings selected Kalil in the 1st round as the 4th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. On July 26, 2012, Kalil signed a four-year contract with the Vikings and as a rookie, he was selected to attend the Pro Bowl. He spent the first five seasons of his career with Minnesota, before joining the Carolina Panthers. With the Panther, he was reunited on the same offensive line with his brother Ryan. They were just the third set of brothers in NFL history to play on the same o-line. After two years in Carolina, Kalil signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent in 2019.
