About Matt Jones
Matt Jones is a running back for the XFL's St. Louis Battlehawks. Jones football journey started at Armwood High School in the Tampa area, where he was rated the 15th best running back in his recruiting class by Rivals.com. Jones went on to the University of Florida, where he had his best season as a junior, running for 817 yards and six touchdowns. The Washington Redskins took note, selecting him in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. In just his second career NFL game, Jones ran for 123 yards on 19 carries while adding three rushing touchdowns. He also proved dangerous as an option in the passing game, going for 131 receiving yards and a touchdown in a midseason blowout win over the New Orleans Saints. Jones played two seasons with the Redskins and one with the Indianapolis Colts before trying out a comeback in the XFL.
