About Matt Barrie
Matt Barrie is an American sportscaster and anchor for ESPN’s SportsCenter, joining the network in 2013 and recently appointed host of SEC Nation. A native of Scottsdale, Arizona, he graduated from Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Barrie began his career at local stations in Wisconsin, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Dallas before moving to ESPN, where he co-anchors weekday editions, hosts college football coverage, and has called golf and other major events. He has earned multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards for his journalism. In 2018, he hosted the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Barrie is known for his engaging delivery, versatility across sports, and is a proud Sun Devil and alumnus inducted into ASU’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2020.
