Mason Heintschel is a star quarterback for the Pittsburgh Panthers. A three-star recruit ranked No. 44 nationally at quarterback, he chose Pitt over offers from Ohio, Coastal Carolina, and Liberty. At Clay High School, Heintschel amassed 8,876 total offensive yards and 102 touchdowns, also earning basketball letters. Enrolling in 2025, the 6-2, 215-pound true freshman debuted with 3-of-4 for 36 yards vs. Duquesne. After early-season struggles, coach Pat Narduzzi benched Eli Holstein for Heintschel in Week 6 vs. Boston College, sparking a 5-0 surge.
