Mark DeRosa

Mark DeRosa is most commonly known for his most recent time spent playing professional baseball with the Toronto Blue Jays. DeRosa was born in 1975 in New Jersey, where he attended high school and excelled in both baseball and football. Earning all-state honors in both sports, he went on to attend the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he played college baseball, college football, and was a brother of a fraternity. DeRosa made his MLB debut in the 1996 draft, where he was selected by the Atlanta Braves and played for them for six seasons. Throughout the remainder of his professional years, DeRosa also played for the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Washington Nationals, and most recently, the Toronto Blue Jays. DeRosa was multi-talented as he played as short stop, second baseman, third baseman, and every other position except for catcher, pitcher, or center field. He completed his career with an impressive 100 home runs, 494 runs batted in, and a .268 batting average.
