Mark Carrier

Mark Carrier, although retired as a player of the NFL, is currently a coach for the Cincinatti Bengals. Born in 1968 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Carrier was a high school football star and went on to attend the University of Southern California in 1989. A three-year starter for the Trojans, he was chosen by the Chicago Bears as the sixth pick of the 1990 NFL draft. Playing with the Bears for six seasons, Carrier was then traded to the Detroit Lions in 1997 and again to the Washington Redskins in 2000. Throughout his professional playing years, Carrier was a three time Pro Bowl selection and the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 1990. However, after retiring from the playing field, Carrier could not bring himself to retire from the field completely. He began his coaching career with Arizona State University in 2004 and has since coached the Baltimore Ravens, New York Jets, and currently the Cincinnati Bengals. Carrier has always been one to follow his passion in life and his decision to coach after retirement from the sport he loves only exemplifies this.
