About Manny Ramirez
Manny Ramirez was one of the most feared sluggers of his era. Ramirez was a 12 time All-Star and hit 555 home runs in his career. He played big on the largest stage as well, hitting a record 29 postseason home runs. As World Series MVP in 2004, Ramirez was key to the Boston Red Sox winning their first championship since 1918. He won another World Series with the Red Sox in 2007 and went to the Fall Classic with the Cleveland Indians in 1997. In addition to those franchises, Ramirez also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago White Sox, and Tampa Bay Rays. He was drafted with the 13th overall pick in 1991 and made his big league debut in 1993 after winning Baseball America’s Minor League Player of the Year that season. Ramirez was born in the Dominican Republic but grew up in New York City and attended George Washington High School. He became a U.S. citizen in 2004.
