About Lawrence Timmons
Lawrence Timmons is a professional football linebacker for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In his high school career, Timmons was ranked as the No. 5 outside linebacker prospect in the nation. Timmons attended Florida State University where he played in all 12 games as a true freshman. His season-best performance came during the ACC Championship Game against Virginia Tech. While at FSU, Timmons was honored with All-American third-team and All-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Timmons as the 15th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Timmons played in all 16 games for the Steelers. In his second season with the Steelers, Timmons received more playing time and he helped the Steelers win Super Bowl XLII. On August 23, 2011, the Steelers gave Timmons a sixyear $50 million contract extension for his 2010 performance. He recorded his first career NFL touchdown on November 12, 2012 against the Cleveland Browns.
