Kyra Gracie Biography

Kyra Gracie is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner and grappling world champion. Gracie is one of the few Gracie women to achieve a black belt in BJJ and she is the first Gracie woman to actively compete in the sport. In 2009, Gracie moved back to Brazil, but she still spends 6 months a year living in the United States. Gracie is associated with the Renzo Gracie Academy, the Gracie Barra Academy, and Evolve/Gordo Jiu-Jitsu Academy. She competed in tournament six of Kunoichi, and she is currently training for her MMA debut. In addition to jiu-jitsu, Gracie trains in judo and wrestling. Gracie began competing for a newly formed Gracie Elite Team, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition team that composed of competitors representing Rillion Gracie, Renzo Gracie, Ralph Gracie, Cesar Gracie, and Ryan Gracie’s respective academies. In January 2010, Gracie has started training in boxing under Claudio Coelho. Gracie gave birth to her first child in September 2014, but that is not stopping her from practicing for her debut in MMA.
