About Gina Carano
Gina Carano is the face of women’s Mixed Martial Arts both for her beauty and for her unbelievable fighting skills. With a background in Muay Thai, she began her career by dominating on the Muay Thai circuit, posting a 12-1-1 record before receiving an offer to participate in the first-ever sanctioned female MMA bout. She’d go on to post a 7-1 MMA record and show the world that women could fight too. During his MMA career she began pursuing a career in acting, serving as a mentor on the 2007 reality show Fight Girls and as “Crush” on the 2008 revamp of American Gladiators. She’d go on to debut on the silver screen in Steven Soderbergh’s 2011 action-thriller, Haywire. Her role in Haywire earned her a nomination for Best Actress in an Action Movie at the 18th Critics’ Choice Awards and set the stage for later roles in movies like Fast & Furius 6 and In the Blood. Carano’s beauty has also landed her on the cover of magazines like ESPN The Magazine and Maxim and made her one of the most sought after brand ambassadors in the MMA world. In 2008 she was voted one of the top 10 most influential women by Yahoo and was the subject of an ESPN E:60 documentary.
