About Kyle Hendricks
Kyle Hendricks had a great decade-plus run pitching for the Chicago Cubs. He had his true breakout season in 2016. Hendricks finished the regular season 16-8 with a Major League-leading 2.13 ERA. No Cubs player had led baseball in ERA since 1938.
Hendricks played a leading role in the postseason as well, helping Chicago get back to the World Series for the first time since 1945. He pitched in the deciding game of the NLCS, outdueling the Los Angeles Dodgers Clayton Kershaw by going 7.1 scoreless innings.
In his debut campaign, he went 7-2 with a 2.46 ERA and finished in seventh place in National League Rookie of the Year voting. The Texas Rangers originally drafted Hendricks in the eighthround of the 2011 MLB Draft. He played college baseball at Dartmouth College.
