Kristian Ipsen

Kristian Ipsen began diving competitively at the age of six in 1998 and rose to prominence at the 2009 World Championships when he captured a silver medal in the men’s 3-meter synchronized springboard. In 2011 he solidified his name as a top global competitor when he captured the senior men 3-meter springboard championship and the synchronized 3-meter springboard title at the US National Championships. That same year he was a member of the two-man team that brought home a silver medal from the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara. He’d go on to compete in the 2012 London Olympic Games and win a bronze medal in the men’s 10-meter platform synchronized diving competition. The medal was the first for the United States in diving since the 2000 Olympics. While competing in the Olympics he maintained his amateur status to compete on the Stanford University diving team where he continues to pursue his degree as of 2014.
