About Kevin Turner
Kevin Turner is the pride of the University of Alabama and made his NFL dreams come true in 1992 when he was selected in the 3rd round of the NFL Draft by the New England Patriots as a fullback. From 1992 to 1999 he rushed for 635 yards and one touchdown, but thrived as a receiver out of the backfield, scoring 10 touchdowns on 2,015 receiving yards and 236 receptions. At 6’1, 235 he was a dynamic blend of size, power and speed that created havoc for opposing defenses. In 2009 Turner left the game and was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease in 2010. Currently Turner is involved in research that links chronic traumatic encephalopathy to his disease. His battle with ALS was documented in the music video “Journey On” by Ty Herndon and he has since been featured in an HBO documentary, which was aired worldwide in 2012.
