About Kevin Mawae
Kevin Mawae is an LSU product that played 16 seasons in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans at the center position. After a Hall of Fame career at LSU in which he earned All-SEC honors he was selected in the 2nd round of the 1994 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Over the course of his decorated career he was named to the Pro-Bowl eight times and earned another eight All-Pro selections. For his contributions to the community he was honored with the 1998 Kyle Clifton Good Guy Award, the Marty Lyons Award in 2005 and the Ed Block Courage Award in 2009. For his stellar play on the field he was named to the NFL 2000’s All-Decade team and the New York Jets All-Time Four Decade Team. Known for his Christian faith, Mawae has devoted his time to several notable causes including spending several weeks in Africa with Children’s Cup International Relif and creating the First and Goal Challenge to benefit Winthrop University Hospital’s outstanding Child Life Program and Pediatric Services.
