About Ken Anderson
Ken Anderson is a Bengal through and through, leading the franchise to some of its best moments. Anderson played his entire career in Cincinnati, was a four-time Pro Bowl pick, and was the 1981 NFL MVP. That 1981 season he was also voted the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year and took the Bengals to the Super Bowl, where they lost to the San Francisco 49ers. Anderson twice led the NFL in passing yards and ended with 32,838 for his career. He had the benefit of entering the league with future legend Bill Walsh as his quarterback coach. Walsh had Anderson run a version of what is now popularized as the “West Coast Offense”. He was a relative unknown coming out of Augustana College, a small school in Illinois. Following Anderson’s playing career, he served as the Bengals radio analyst and then as their quarterbacks coach for just under a decade. He also coached for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers.
