Katie O’Donnell

Katie O’Donnell starred on the University of Maryland field hockey team from 2007 to 2011 after a standout prep career at Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pennsylvania. While at Wissahickon she led her team in assists all four years and scored over 100 goals while also traveling with the United States U-16 National Team. Her numerous honors included earning Player of the Year honors three times and NFHCA first team All-American, first team all-league, all-area and all-state honors. Upon arriving at the University of Maryland in 2007 she became an instant star, finishing her freshman season with 18 goals and 17 assists and leading the nation with 53 points in route to being named National Rookie of the Year and earning first team All-American honors. While at Maryland she was a three-time National Offensive MVP, three-time All-American, led the nation in points three times and earned the 2009 National Player of the Year award while also leading the Terrapins to an NCAA National Championship in 2008. In 2010 the Women’s Sports Foundation named her the National Sportswoman of the Year. Since graduating from Maryland she has continued to compete on the US National Team, leading them to two Olympic games in 2008 and 2012. Off the field she serves as a valuable brand ambassador for American field hockey manufacturer STX.
