About Juan Carlos Ferrero
Juan Carlos Ferrero Donat entered the world on February 12, 1980 in Ontinyent Spain before becoming a professional tennis player and current coach. The highest ATP singles ranking he reached occurred on September 8, 2003 when he became World No. 1 and he won the 2003 French Open. The professional tennis career of Ferrero ended in 2012 when he settled at the Ferrero Tennis Academy in Villena Spain to become its director and academy director.
Ferrero started coaching Carlos Alcaraz in 2019 and led him to win several Grand Slam tournaments including the 2022 US Open and the 2023 and 2024 Wimbledon and 2024 and 2025 French Open titles. Under Ferrero's guidance Alcaraz reached the position of World No. 1 in ATP rankings at the youngest age.
The Ferrero Tennis Academy started as Equelite in 1990 through the establishment of Antonio MartĂnez Cascales who also trained Ferrero. The training facility has evolved into a leading institution that trains future tennis professionals. The academy now provides padel training in addition to tennis through its partnership with former world No. 1 padel player Daniel Sanyo GutiĂŠrrez to create the first international padel academy.
Ferrero dedicates his time to philanthropy through the Juan Carlos Ferrero Foundation which supports youth sports development in Valencia and its surrounding areas.
