About Jose Bautista
Major League Baseball fans remember José Bautista as "Joey Bats" because of his powerful hitting abilities and his ability to deliver crucial performances. José Bautista entered the world in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic before the Pittsburgh Pirates selected him in 2000. Bautista joined the Toronto Blue Jays in 2008 after playing for multiple teams before establishing himself as a power hitter.
Bautista became the MLB home run leader twice during 2010 and 2011 when he hit 54 home runs each year and received six All-Star selections and three Silver Slugger Awards during his entire career. The Blue Jays and their fans remember his bat flip during the 2015 American League Division Series as a defining moment that energized the team. During his 15-year career Bautista established himself as one of the franchise leaders in key offensive statistics while hitting 344 home runs.
Through the Bautista Family Education Fund José Bautista dedicates his time to philanthropy by supporting young athletes who want to pursue education. In 2024 he expanded his sports influence by purchasing Las Vegas Lights FC which became his professional soccer team.
