About John Spanos
Since 2015, John Spanos has been the president of football operations. Spanos originally joined the organization in 1995 as a football operations assistant. In 2003, he started working in the scouting department. Spanos got his big break in 2013 when he was named executive vice president of football operations. The Chargers have had great success in the NFL Draft since he has had an elevated role in the personnel department. Standouts like Keenan Allen, Jason Verrett, Melvin Gordon and Joey Bosa have been selected in that time. In addition to working with the Chargers, Spanos has had two stints with the NFL's Management Council office. He is currently on the board of the directors for National Football Scouting. Spanos is also an Honorary Member of the University of California-San Diego Athletic Board. Greek America Magazine named him one of the "Top 40 Under 40" Greek-Americans in 2010.
