John Isner Biography

John Isner is considered the best American tennis player today.  Isner is best known by his epic match with Nicholas Mahut at Wimbledon in 2010.  The 11 hour, five minute duel spread out over three days is the longest in professional tennis history.  Isner has nine singles titles to his credit and has been ranked as high as ninth in the world.  He continues to make his way up the all-time aces list on the ATP Tour.  Isner’s best finish in a Grand Slam was a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2011 U.S. Open.  His 6’10” height makes him very unique and one of the most powerful players in tennis.  At the 2010 Heineken Open, Isner notched his first ATP title.  He grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina and started playing at the age of nine.  Isner graduated from the University of Georgia and was a three-time All-American at the school.  He currently lives in Tampa, Florida.
