About Jimmy Roberts
Jimmy Roberts is a New York native and got his start in announcing as White Plains High School’s morning announcer. In 1975 he began writing for the school’s newspaper and continued his work at the University of Maryland. After earning his degree in journalism from Maryland he signed on as reporter at ESPN for 12 years before becoming an interviewer for NBC Sports. Eventually he worked his way up and began hosting the halftime shows for Notre Dame football games. During his time at NBC he earned two Emmy’s for excellence in sports broadcast journalism while covering the PGA Tour, Wimbledon, horse racing and Major League Baseball games. Over the course of his career he has covered ten Olympic Games and was the headline correspondent at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
