About Jay Yelas
Jay Yelas is a professional angler currently residing in Corvallis, Oregon. While he is most passionate about salmon and steelhead fishing, he is also widely considered to be a “bassmaster” with over $2 million in career winnings. Yelas has fished in an impressive total of 288 events to date. As a graduate of Oregon State University with a degree in Residential Recreational Management, Yelas always knew that he wanted to pursue a career as a professional angler. His most notable career accomplishments have been achieved as the 2002 Bassmaster Classic Champion, 2002 FLW Angler of the Year, 2003 Bassmaster Angler of the Year, 2003 ESPN ESPY Best Outdoors Athlete and the 2007 Angler of the Year. He has always been a humble achiever, impressing fans with his humility attached to his raw talent and hard work. As a family man with a wife and two daughters, Yelas continues to carry out his passion as a professional angler while supporting his family.
