About James Jones
James Jones originally joined the Green Bay Packers in 2007 as a 3rd round selection. A former All-WAC performer at San Jose State University, Jones is one of the most athletic and entertaining wide receivers in the NFL today. In 2007 he established himself as a reliable target for the Packers after catching 47 passes for 676 yards and two touchdowns. Over the next couple of seasons he earned his stripes and became one of the top wide outs in the league. In 2010 he caught a career high 50 passes for 679 yards and 5 touchdowns in route to helping the Packers to a win in Super Bowl XLV. Two seasons later he’d set a new career high with 64 receptions for 784 yards and lead all NFL wide receivers with 14 touchdown receptions. Following another impressive year in 2013 in which he posted a career-high 817 receiving yards, he signed a three-year deal with the Oakland Raiders. After one fairly productive season in Oakland, Jones ended up returning to Green Bay in 2015 and gaining a career-best 890 receiving yards. He officially retired from the NFL in 2017.
