Jamal Lewis

Jamal Lewis is most famously known as a former running back in the NFL. Splitting his professional career between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns, Lewis played in the NFL from 2000 to 2009. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia in the 1980’s and early ‘90’s and excelled in both football and track. As a standout sprinter, it was no surprise when Lewis’ speed and football talent led him to a scholarship at the University of Tennessee. Playing three years of collegiate football there, he became third on the university’s list of alltime rushers and fourth in all-purpose yards. Before completing his senior year, Lewis entered the 2000 NFL Draft and was selected as the fifth overall pick by the Ravens. He stayed with the Ravens for the first seven seasons of his professional career, during which he won a Super Bowl Championship and became the Ravens all-time leader in rushing attempts, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns. Lewis entered the 2,000 Rushing Yards Single Season Club and the 10,000 Rushing Yards Club. He played his final three seasons with the Cleveland Browns before retiring due to an injury. Lewis certainly made an impact on the game of football throughout his professional career.
