Jake Browning Biography

Jake Browning is a quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals who was thrust into starting duty in 2023 when Joe Burrow went down with a season-ending injury. Browning had played sparingly in the NFL up to that time, originally joining Cincinnati in 2021 after spending the first part of his career on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad. 

The VIkings signed Browning in 2019 after he had a stellar college career at Washington. He started for the Huskies as a freshman, becoming just the second quarterback at UW to ever do so. His sophomore campaign was a banner year, with Washington going 12-2 and winning their first conference title since 2000. Browning was a first-team All-Pac 12 selection and was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the conference after throwing for 3,430 yards and 43 touchdowns. Browning also won ten games each year as a junior and senior.
