J.T. Barrett

J.T. Barrett is one of the greatest quarterbacks in Ohio State history. He is the only three-time captain in Buckeyes history. Barrett won two Big Ten titles as a starter. He started 44 career games and set a record with 38 wins. Barrett started four games against rival Michigan and went 4-0. He holds Big Ten records for total yards, touchdowns and touchdown passes. Barrett also set 34 Ohio State football records. He has the unique distinction of being the all-time Buckeye passing leader and also in the top ten of the school's career rushing list. His 147 total touchdowns rank fourth in NCAA history. Barrett was named the Big Ten Griese-Brees Quarterback of the Year three times. He was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection. In 2014, Barrett was named a second-team All-American and the Big Ten Thompson-Randle El Freshman of the Year. That season, the freshman went down with an injury in the season finale against Michigan but Ohio State rallied to win the inaugural College Football Playoff. Barrett would go on to play in major bowl games during his career and was the MVP of the 2016 Fiesta Bowl and the 2017 Cotton Bowl.
