About Heidi Watney
Heidi Watney is a sportscaster who is a host and reporter for the MLB Network. Watney was a National Merit Scholar in high school, and she attended the University of San Diego where she graduated in 2003 with honors. Along with attending college, Watney has also competed in many beauty competitions, including a runner up finish in the Miss California Pageant in 2002. Her first on air role came as a sports talk radio host for ESPN in Fresno, as well as an on air anchor for a news team. In May 2008, Watney got the job as an old field reporter for the Boston Red Sox, as well as hosting two Red Sox centered shows for a Boston based regional sports network. Watney left Boston in 2011 to work as a sideline reporter for a Los Angeles based regional sports network, but she left that role in 2012 to work at the MLB Network, where she hosts programs like QuickPitch, Hot Stove and Intentional Talk.
