About Greg Lloyd
Greg Lloyd Sr. is a product of Fort Valley State and the pride of Miami, Florida. While at Fort Valley State he dominated his opponents from the linebacker position, earning SIAC Player of the Year honors to go along with being named to the All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team for three consecutive seasons. In 1988 he joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as a sixth round pick and flourished, becoming a five-time Pro Bowl selection, two-time Pittsburgh Steelers Team MVP in 1991 and 1994 and earning AP First Team All Pro Honors in three consecutive seasons from 1993 to 1995. In 1994 Lloyd was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Year. In 1998 Lloyd finished his career with the Carolina Panthers, hanging up his cleats for good to enjoy watching his son, Greg Lloyd Jr. do his thing on the football field. In 2011 Lloyd Sr. watched as his son was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles and made his own NFL dreams come true. Since his retirement he enjoys watching his son’s games and also teaches Tae Kwon Do, a discipline in which he holds a black belt.
