About Giannis Antetokounmpo
In 2013 the Milwaukee Bucks selected Greek hoops star Giannis Antetokounmpo with the 15th overall pick in the NBA Draft. Growing up the Nigerian immigrant dreamt of playing professional basketball, and worked hard to make that dream a reality. After a stellar 2013 season in which he earned All-Greek A2 Newcomer of the Year and Co-Rookie of the Year honors in Europe the Bucks had high hopes for their new star and he lived up to them. During the 2013-14 season he averaged 7.4 points and 4.5 rebounds while still getting acclimated to his new surroundings. At just 19 years old, the 6-11, 217 pound shooting guard is off to a great start in 2014, averaging 11.7 points during his teams first 10 games. Currently Antetokounmpo holds dual citizenship between Greece and the United States and returns home during the off-season to train and spend time with his family. Known as the “Greek Freak” for his explosive athleticism and playmaking ability, the future looks bright for this young star.
